Community Arts Festival

I am part of a cummity that is orginizing an arts festival in Salinas. It will feature local artisist, and musicians. The only thing is that we do not want to get the city or any politics involoved, reason being is that the city fails to provide the minority community with such events and we do not want any politrics involved for thier political agenda. This is for the people by the people. although there could be many advantages collaberating with the city but we just feel a sort of recentment, because of the fact that the city has failed in developing such an event for minorities. They do have El Grito, for the mexicans "which they are capitalizing on" but this is more for the Mexicans, thier are many indiginous poeples, black, philipino, chicano etc.. This is for local atists to expresss themselves. The musicians are artist are donating thier time so it will be a free event. As of now I have been advised that I will need an ampliphide outdoor music day permit. we will see how that goes. any suggestions?

Capstone

Wow !! I am so exhausted I have been working on my capstone for the last week doing the finishing touches I can not wait until it is over. Is anyone taking capstone this semester?

Prisons vs Universities

I wanted to know what people thought about the situation in California we have built more prisons in California than Universities in the last fifteen years. I can count the Universities on one hand.

I think that Bush is a liar, he makes many false accusations and never gives direct answers. what do you think?

Traveling

I got the oppertunity to travel to Mexico the past couple of years and am planning a trip to South America this year. Traveling through many different places in Mexico both rural and big cities, I realized how privledge we Americans are. Has anyone had a similar expirience?

Musicians on campus

It seems that there are alot of musicians on campus and also many bands, I recenlty got notice that I could not play ampified music unless approved. I think that this campus has enough room the designate a biulding for band to practice instead of reporting us to RAs.
